It synced as it loaded, and now it's working! So I deleted my local save data for my profile from Manage Games, Hard Reset my console and went back into Vermintide. The bit where I used a different profile got me thinking - the only difference should be in my profile Save Data. This is back on my own profile - it worked fine on the other profile with no waiting.

Waiting on the Main Menu did nothing, unfortunately. It worked fine! I can't really share the name of that profile though as it's not mine, but I think the key part is it's another profile. I just tried with the only other profile on my Xbox One. Until I started trying things this morning, it was only my own account (same username as Reddit) that was logged in. Language and Locale is set on English (United Kingdom), Xbox Live region is the same. Wi-fi connection (5Ghz band, if that matters), as a cable wouldn't be practical in my current home set-up.
